National Family Meals Month

Fooding is Better Together

Fairway is proud to partner with National Family Meals Month. We’re working together to help bring your family closer together too. How? By committing to having at least one family meal per week.  Studies show that eating just one meal a week together can have a big impact on kids’ emotional health, grades and social interactions. It sounds easy, but we realize actually making it happen can be tough. So we’re making it easier for you by offering help however we can – meal ideas, tips, sales and, of course, good quality ingredients. So set a goal. Then set the table. We recommend starting with these nachos that are equally fun and easy.

1. Coleman Andouille Sausage

Heat skillet over medium-high heat, add sausage, cook until browned, about 5 minutes. Transfer to a paper towel & drain.

2. B&G Hot Jalapeno Peppers

Add peppers to the fat left in the skillet. Cook about 30 seconds.

3. Organic Fairway Pinto Beans

Mash beans, add to peppers, and cook until heated, about 1 minute. Add 3/4 cup chicken stock, 1/2 tsp. chili powder and a 1/2 tsp. cumin & salt.

4. Muir Glenn Canned Tomatoes

Dice entire can of tomatoes into small pieces.

5 Cabot Cheddar Cheese Bar
Finely grate 3 cups cheese.

6 Food Should Taste Good Tortilla Chips
Spread 1/2 of the tortilla chips in one even layer in a large baking dish. Top with 1/2 of the cheese, 1/2 of the beans, 1/2 of the sausage, 1/2 of the jalapeños, 1/2 tomatoes. Repeat with another layer. Bake 2 to 5 minutes at 450 until the cheese is melted and the mixture is hot.
