Here are the choices to choose from for your reservation:

MURRAY’S WHOLE FRESH TURKEY
ALL-NATURAL, CAGE-FREE, AND ANTIBIOTIC- AND HORMONE-FREE
These vegetarian-fed turkeys are certified humane, and come to us straight from the Blue Ridge Mountains of Pennsylvania’s Lancaster countryside.

MURRAY’S WHOLE FRESH BRINED TURKEY
ALL-NATURAL, CAGE-FREE, AND ANTIBIOTIC- AND HORMONE-FREE
Enhanced taste & texture? Of course! It’s simple chemistry. The brine solution plumps up the turkey’s meat, producing a physical change in the tissue — breast meat especially. Without getting too technical, the bird stays plump, moist, more flavorful and juicy than a bird of equal weight without pre-brining. The special brine is Murray’s own family recipe and all the enjoyment is yours — fuss-free and juicy!!

MAPLECREST WHOLE FRESH TURKEY
ALL-NATURAL
For years, Maplecrest has been known for naturally delicious fresh turkeys. Produced only once a year, specifically for the Thanksgiving holiday, Maplecrest exceeds all USDA standards.

BONELESS TURKEY BREAST ROAST
No more wishing there was more breast meat … the best part of the turkey! Our Fairway master butchers have taken a relatively simple concept in festive dining, and have turned it into a masterpiece. Fabulously moist, juicy, easy to carve, easy to serve, and oh so easy to prepare. This one gets our thumbs up!

FAIRWAY KOSHER WHOLE FRESH TURKEY
Our kosher turkeys are held to the same high standards we demand of everything sold through our old-fashioned Butcher Shop. They’re koshered under strict OU supervision, and like our other turkeys, these kosher turkeys are all natural and fresh, never frozen – the best quality you can buy! Plus, because kosher poultry is salted and soaked in water during the koshering process, it has a moist meat with superior flavor, too.

EBERLY ORGANIC WHOLE FRESH TURKEY
Being one of the original organic turkey farmers, Eberly is as authentic as it gets. Raised on small Amish and Mennonite family farms in the heart of Pennsylvania Dutch Country — where they’re only given the best organically grown grains and fresh, mineral-rich water as part of their regular diet — these local, humanely-raised, hormone-free, antibiotic-free, free-range turkeys have stood the test of time to always come out on top as one of the best organic turkeys around.

Here are fresh-turkey reservation tips:

Whether you’re planning to serve a crew, or you’re making Thanksgiving dinner for a few, you’ll have plenty of white meat to go around if you follow Fairway Master Butcher Ray Venezia’s easy ordering advice:

  • Get 1.6 to 1.7 pounds of whole turkey per person.
  • So if 10 people are coming over for Thanksgiving, you’ll need to buy a 16- to 17-pound whole turkey.

I have already reserved a Murray’s Whole Fresh Brined Turkey that I will pick up and carry home on November 22 at the Fairway Market in Pelham Manor. I have never had this particular turkey before but I am looking forward to it as the description suggests that the white meat (my favorite part) will be moister in this turkey than in a plain, unbrined one.
